Make stress your friend! If you look at stress as a signal to you to focus or refocus dependent on your situation it can become less of a demon and more of a signal to change. Based on the body's natural "fight or flight" response, that burst of energy will enhance your performance at the right moment and can help you when you are in need, so it it not just a "negative" response. When you look at stress in this manner it helps you put back into focus relaxation and peace and is Step 1 in learning how to destress and relax.
2. Avoid unnecessary stress: other stressed people who are out of control with their stress and gravitate to other people who are able to destress and relax.
You start becoming who you hang around. Reading this article will make you aware of why your stressing and how to cope with it. Being around other stressed people will get you stressed again beware by switching your perspective on the world and looking at the stresses rather than the joy's.

6. Know your buttons that push you towards stress
You should make mental notes of what starts your patterns off and what you need to do to recognise this early so that you can be aware of it and control your mind and stress levels. It's easy to do and will stop you well before it's too late.
Make your own list of stress trigger points or hot spots. Be specific. Is it only presentations to a certain audience that get you worked up? Does one project cause more stress than another? Did you drink too much coffee?
Knowing what causes you stress is powerful information, as you can take action to make it less stressful. Do you need to learn some new skills? Do you need extra resources? Do you need to switch to decaf? What do you need to change to destress and relax?
